FEED study for installation of radar type of level meter, on top of powder silo. Radar type level meter will act as secondary device to measure the weight of powder (product) inside the silo, where the primary measuring devices (loadcells) often failed during plant start up. The proposed radar level transmitter shall be readable from site, or by using bluetooth, eliminating the costly requirement for additional cabling to plant control room.

Rough surface causes polymer powder to adhere onto silo internal wall. By time, the adhered powder build up thickens, which causes the heat from steam tracing on the silo external wall unable to heat (and dry) the powder inside silo. This leads to lump creation on the silo discharge area (cone) which causing blockage, that eventually leads to chemical charge down or emergency shutdown.
